Alice Short joined Protiviti more than a decade ago, quickly establishing herself as a key player in the Technology Consulting practice. Multiple promotions and awards recognising her leadership in the Governance, Risk and Compliance space later — most recently as GRC Role Model of the Year — she reflects with pride on her path within the male-dominated technology field.

As one of a small cadre of senior women in this field, Alice has been instrumental in delivering creative solutions to clients, and advocating for women's representation and leadership within the tech space.

Enhancing Creativity and Inclusivity

Technology Consulting is a relatively male-dominated space. Alice is driven towards creating an environment where women feel their voices matter and their contributions are valued. She recognises that women bring unique, bedrock strengths, such as relationship building, strategic thinking, and negotiation skills to their leadership roles – and to the marketplace.

Alice is relentless in her ambition to bring about even more recognition of the strengths women bring to this field. To that end, last year she initiated a community of female UK leaders focused on sharing client best practices, knowledge management, and peer support.

This group has played a crucial role for participants, strengthening their technical and professional skills, while enabling Protiviti to effectively deliver diverse perspectives to clients. Alice’s own leadership style encourages open dialogue and teamwork, ensuring that every voice is heard.
