Client Situation The company’s procurement department, based in Hong Kong, struggled with extracting customer data from its website for product development and quality control. The process was time-consuming, leading to inconsistencies and missed insights that slowed progress and decision-making. Work Performed Protiviti developed an AI-based solution using Azure OpenAI to manage, classify and analyse customer comments, giving the client the ability to better understand the comments and customer sentiments around its products and services. Delays of two to three months in processing customer feedback were hampering the company’s ability to nimbly respond to individual feedback and market trends. This intelligent summarisation process also included sentiment analysis to gauge customer emotions associated with each theme. These features were instrumental in getting the customer data needed:Automated data collection: The automated processes we established collect customer comments from the website via web scraping and upload to the centralised database. The development of a dynamic dashboard provides real-time customer feedback insights, enabling quick responses to emerging trends and issues.Theme classification: Using advanced natural language processing (NLP) algorithms within Azure OpenAI, feedback is classified into relevant themes such as product design, usability, pricing, logistics, safety, and more. Sentiment analysis: AI models assess the sentiment behind each comment—positive, negative or neutral—to provide deeper insights into customer opinions.Integration with Power BI: The summarised data, along with sentiment scores, are integrated into Power BI dashboards where they can be visualised in real-time and explored by the product team and quality assurance team.
