Not only is this beneficial from a personnel-perspective, but it also provides us with a huge commercial benefit.“Our support for the military network – both currently serving and veterans or ex-military personnel – is incredibly important and each member from this community brings fantastic leadership skills and life skills into the organisation, which really does make a difference. One other thing I've learned over the years, is the power of the military network, is just something else. We are delighted to be a part of this hugely significant and influential network.”Major General Rob Anderton-Brown, Director Capability, Strategic Command said: “I am delighted to have co-signed the Armed Forces Covenant with Protiviti UK. This important commitment is of great value to the Armed Forces Community. It helps reinforce the importance and benefits of an increasingly close relationship needed between industry and the Armed Forces.”The signing comes shortly after the launch of Protiviti UK’s Military ENG, co-chaired by Brett McGowan, Director, who served for more than 20 years in the Royal Signals, and Rupert Fischer, Consultant, who currently serves as an Officer with the Honourable Artillery Company. This ENG is an open group for all those affiliated with the Armed Forces and for those interested in the impact and challenges this community can sometimes face. Its aim is to provide support to veterans, reservists and their families as well as recognising the skills military personnel can bring to the workplace. It also leads in internal policy development and guidance, shaping recruitment practices, and championing the causes and needs of Armed Forces affiliated colleagues. To date nearly 12,000 organisations have signed the AFC including businesses and charities nationwide since its introduction 2011.Find out more information about the covenant, including how organisations can support the forces community on the Armed Forces Covenant website here.View a list of organisations who have signed the AFC here.
